Specifications of the Boss TU-80

    • Boss has a lengthy tradition of making quality audio gear at prices musicians can afford. Among its offerings is the TU-80, which offers the ability to tune almost any instrument, including six-string basses and seven string guitars. The TU-80 comes in a slim-line package, making it unobtrusive in live applications.

    Tuning

    • The Boss Tu-80 comes with highly accurate LCD tuning. It offers Accu-Pitch, which generates a tone when an instrument is in tune so players don't need to look at the tuner to determine when the pitch is correct. It additionally supports chromatic tuning, which enables it to recognize tunings for a wide array of instruments, including strings, brass and woodwinds. The tuner covers a wide range of frequencies, from 20.6 6 hertz to 4.186 kilohertz, with an accuracy of plus or minus 1 cent.

    Metronome

    • The metronome included on the TU-80 offers seven rhythms and 10 beats to allow instrumentalists to practice several different tempos and styles. The metronome offers tempos of 30 to 250 beats per second.

    Power

    • The TU-80 has input and output jacks for instruments, as well as an output for an AC power supply. Power also can be supplied by two AA batteries, which will allow the unit to run for approximately 100 hours.

    Dimensions

    • The TU-80 is 13/16 of an inch wide,11/16 of an inch deep and 7/8ths of an inch high; it weighs 5 oz.
