Specifications of the Nordic Track EXP1000S

    • The NordicTrack EXP 1000 S is a treadmill produced by NordicTrack, a U.S.-based manufacturer of exercise equipment. According to Runners World, treadmills help people train scientifically, progressively increasing the intensity of their workouts by varying the speed precisely and monitoring the heart rate at once. Nordic Track sold the EXP 1000 S in the early 2000s for approximately $1,000.

    Speed

    • The 1.5 horsepower continuous duty motor of the NordicTrack EXP 1000 S allows the belt to run at a speed of between 0.5 mph and 10 mph. In other words, the EXP 1000 S allows you to walk or run the equivalent of 7.5 miles in a typical 45-minute workout. You can adjust the speed in 0.1 mph or 0.5 mph increments. The treadmill also has an adjustable incline of between 0 and 10 degrees, which you can adjust in 0.5-degree increments

    Programs

    • The NordicTrack EXP 1000 S comes with two pre-loaded workout programs that control the speed and incline at which you run on the belt. iFIT, a website owned by NordicTrack, allows you to download additional programs as well as audio and video training materials. You can also create your own programs manually.

    Running Area

    • The running area of the treadmill, also known as its belt, measures 20 by 50 inches. It is long and wide enough for most runners. The running area is cushioned to provide additional comfort. This contrasts with the often hard surfaces that you will encounter when running outside.

    Display

    • The display of the NordicTrack EXP 1000 S shows the speed, the incline and the LED track, showing how many 1/4 miles you have completed, the distance you have run and the number of calories you have burned. It can also show your heart rate if you are using the handgrip pulse sensor.
