Specs on 2003 Suzuki

Suzuki, founded in 1909, began shifting its focus to automobiles in the 1950s. Suzuki released its first vehicle---the Suzukilight---in 1955. In 2003, Suzuki offered three different vehicle models: the Aerio, Vitara, Grand Vitara and XL-7.
  • Aerio

    • The Suzuki Aerio had two different body styles: four-door and wagon. Fitted with a 2-liter, four-cylinder engine, this vehicle produced 145 horsepower at 5,700 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 136 foot-lbs. of torque at 3,000 rpm. The Aerio got 23 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

    Vitara

    • The Vitara---the smallest SUV produced by Suzuki---had a 2-liter, four-cylinder engine that produced 127 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 134 foot-lbs. of torque at 3,000 rpm. This small SUV got 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

    Grand Vitara

    • Fitted with a 2.5-liter V-6, the Grand Vitara---the slightly larger of the compact Suzuki SUVs---produced 165 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 162 foot-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpm. The V-6 engine got 17 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

    XL-7

    • Fitted with a 2.7-liter V-6, the XL-7---Suzuki's midsize SUV---produced 183 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 180 foot-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpm. This SUV got 16 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.
