Steps for Replacing a 1994 Accord Passenger's Side Headlight

The passenger's side headlights are the easier ones to replace on the 1994 Honda Accord. Gaining access to the back of these headlights inside the engine compartment is wide open compared to the driver's side. There are two bulbs in each headlight assembly. The low beam is located on the front fender side of the assembly, and the high beam is located towards the grille side of the assembly.

Verify that the headlight switch is turned off.

    • 2

Apply the parking brake, remove the keys from the ignition and open the hood.

    • 3

Reach down behind the passenger's side headlight. Standing over the engine slightly will allow visual access and assist in replacing the headlight.

    • 4

Disconnect the wire harness connection from the plug/base of the headlight.

    • 5

Turn the headlight counterclockwise until it can be removed from the back of the headlight assembly (approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn).

    • 6

Put on gloves before handling the replacement bulb to avoid skin contact with the halogen bulb.

    • 7

Install the replacement bulb by aligning the bulb into the headlight assembly and turning it clockwise until it clicks into place.

    • 8

Connect the wire harness plug to the socket of the headlight and test it by turning on the lights.
