Tips & Tricks for "Hidden Expedition: Amazon"

    • The hidden-object game "Hidden Expedition: Amazon" centers on the disappearance of Professor Mandible, who had been searching for the legendary Beetle Temple in the Amazon. You're asked to retrace the professor's steps, track down the wayward archaeologist and recover the missing pieces of his journal.

    Blue Words

    • Most of the items in the word list appear in white letters, but some have blue letters, which means that you'll have to use inventory items to obtain them. In some locations in the scene, the arrow pointer for your mouse will turn blue, and this indicates the location of a blue-word item. To use an inventory item, click on the "Inventory" tab, highlight the item and click on the area of the scene.

    Scenes

    • A single level in "Hidden Expedition: Amazon" may take place over two or more scenes. Press the "Map" button to view all the available locations and the number of items you have to find in each place. In some cases, you'll need to use an inventory item you collected in one scene to obtain an object from your list in another scene. For example, in the level set in Casablanca, the gopher food found in the living room is used to attract the gopher in the desert. If you're having trouble finding the remaining items on your list in a particular scene, switch to another location. In some levels, an additional location will be revealed after you've found all of the hidden items in the locations you'd previously unlocked.

    Hints

    • Press the "Hint" button, represented by a beetle, to find the precise location of an item in the scene. The game will ask you which item you'd like revealed to you. Click on the name of the item from the list, and a glowing blue circle will appear around it in the scene. You're given three hints for each level, and these hints apply to all of the locations for the level. Five scarab beetles are hidden within each scene, and if you find them all, you'll obtain an additional hint.

    Silhouettes

    • When you click on an item from the list, a silhouetted image of that object appears in the square to the left of the "Hint" button. While it doesn't show you the item's color or distinguishing details, it does show you how it's positioned in the scene. If the silhouette shows you the item is upside-down or sideways, that's how it'll be oriented in the scene. You can use the silhouettes as many times as you wish to help you find items without spending hints.
