Use Dell Diagnostics

Connect the AC adapter to your Dell XPS M1330. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a wall outlet.

Press "F12" when the monitor displays the Dell logo. Use the directional pad on the keyboard to select "Diagnostics" from the boot menu.

Press "Enter" to run Dell Diagnostics. The computer will run a preliminary check on your system's devices.

Answer any questions that appear onscreen. Press "Y," if prompted, to continue the preliminary assessment.

Write down any error codes displayed onscreen. Check the error codes on the Dell website (see Resources) to determine the root of the error.

Press any key to continue to Dell Diagnostics. Select "Test System." Choose "Extended Test" from the menu.

Answer any questions that appear onscreen. "System Diagnostics" will perform a comprehensive scan of your system devices.

Write down any error codes displayed on the results page, as well as any descriptions of the problem. Follow the onscreen instructions to resolve the error, if possible.
Flash the BIOS

Confirm the XPS M1330's battery is installed to its bay. Connect the AC adapter to the laptop's power jack, and plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.

Power on the computer and navigate to Dell's "Drivers and Downloads" web page. Click "Select Model" from the options.

Select "Laptops" as the product family, "XPS Laptop" as the product line and "M1330" as the product model. Click "Confirm."

Expand the "Bios" category. Click "Dell - BIOS." Expand "Installation Instructions" and click "Download File to Desktop."

Read the "Export Compliance Disclaimer," then click "Yes, I Accept this Agreement." Save the file to your desktop. Double-click the file to launch it. Follow the onscreen instructions to flash your Dell XPS M1330 BIOS.
