Nearly 200,000 people attend a single parade in Phoenix, Arizona, in order to celebrate Veteran's Day. Count yourself as one of those who choose to remember our armed forces. It's a respectful tribute to those who have served the country and helped provide the rights and freedoms that we experience. Phoenix has a number of Veteran's Day activities to provide fun for the entire family.
Veteran's Day Gourd Dance and Community Potluck

Celebrate with the Arizona Territorial Gourd Society and the Pueblo Grande Museum on November 11. The Veteran's Day Gourd Dance and Community Potluck begins at 11:30 a.m. with gourd dancing and a community lunch to follow. Bring your favorite potluck dish as a contribution. There is no charge to attend and the event is open to people of all ages.
Veteran's Day Parade

The annual Veteran's Day Parade, hosted by the Phoenix VA Health Care System, is scheduled for 11 a.m. on November 11. Following the theme of "Defending Freedom, Protecting Dreams," there are more than 100 entries in the parade. Marching bands, veterans, sponsored floats, clowns and large-scale helium balloons, including Uncle Sam, the Bald Eagle and Rosie the Riveter, will follow the parade route, beginning at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center and ending at the North Phoenix Baptist Church.
Annual Veteran's Parade and Family Picnic

Hosted by the Daisy Mountain Veterans, the Annual Veteran's Parade and Family Picnic will be held on November 6. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Gavalin Park and ends at Anthem School. The picnic and festival activities begin at 12:30 p.m. on the school grounds, and includes a food court, beer garden, inflatable bounce houses and live entertainment. Free and fee-based parking options are available.
