What Is the Full Form of OSD in LCD?

Modern day computer hardware and electronics are full of acronyms that can be hard to decipher. CRT, VGA, and PCI are a few examples of this. LCD stands for "liquid crystal display," and almost all LCD's include an "OSD."
  • What is an OSD?

    • An OSD on any LCD monitor or TV stands for "on screen display." An OSD displays information and controls related to video modes, color modes, and user-adjustable settings.

    OSD features

    • Most OSD's include adjustable settings that include brightness, contrast, color, horizontal position, vertical position, shape and more.

    Easy picture adjustment

    • Most modern LCD displays either have an "auto" button or an auto control in the OSD. Press this to auto adjust the brightness and contrast to an optimum level. If there is no auto button, navigate into the OSD and find the "auto" function and execute it. This should optimize your screen for you and is a timesaver.
