Technology, computers and endless hours of television programming make being a couch potato easy. Young people have a particularly hard time prioritizing getting in a workout amid many school and social activities. Teen obesity is a nationwide problem, so making exercise fun is a priority, according to USA Today. Getting fit isn't a hassle when you make it entertaining and incorporate it into your everyday life. Finding playful ways to work out as a girl is good practice for keeping fitness a priority as you age.
Make Cardio Fun

Getting your heart rate up during cardio is important for good health. Instead of going for a long run or attending an aerobics class, think about how you can accomplish the same goal without getting bored. Inline skating is a good option, and you can share this activity with a friend. Any form of dancing or playing a sport you enjoy also will increase your heart rate.

Strength training is another important part of a fitness regimen. You don't have to have a gym membership with access to weight machines in order to build some bulk. Look for ways to increase your strength around your school and your house. Volunteer to bring the groceries in from the car or carry the bags of mulch to the flower bed. Any cell phone bill reflects that catching up with your girlfriends is a constant activity. Put down the phone, meet your friends in person and take a walk. Do this at a mall or outside when the weather is nice. You get a good work out in and hardly notice.

If your bike is like a distant memory in the back of the garage, dust it off and get to pedaling. It's easy to jump in the car for running errands, but if the distance allows, use your bike instead. Riding bikes is another fun activity you can do with your friends as well.
