Analogue to HDMI Converter

Monitors, TVs and other video devices often use HDMI, or High Definition Multimedia Interface inputs. Analogue signals are not compatible with HDMI and must be converted to HDMI digital format for use on these devices.
  • Function

    • HDMI cables provide a digital signal. An analogue to HDMI converter changes, or converts analogue signals to digital signals for input to digital display devices.

    Significance

    • Display devices more dependent on digital input and HDMI is often one of the only input choices on these devices, so in some cases an analogue to HDMI converter is needed.

    Benefits

    • HDMI offers high quality video and also carries audio signals over the same cable. An analogue to HDMI converter allows a user to play video on digital displays as well as combine analogue audio and video signals into one cable.

    Procedure

    • Analogue signals can not be converted through a simple cable. Only an active analogue to HDMI converter can combine analogue audio and video inputs and change them to a single digital signal.
