Send Faxes

Press the "Fax" button on the MFC 7220 printer. The button should illuminate. Place the document you wish to scan face down in the document feeder and adjust the width guides to the edges of the document.

Dial the number of your intended fax recipient using the printer keypad. Press the "Start" button to begin the fax transmission.

Store fax numbers in the MFC 7220's memory by pressing the "Menu/Set" button, then press "2," "3," and "1" in that order. Select a number on the keypad that you want to use to store the fax number.

Enter the fax number to be stored and then press the "Menu/Set" button. Type the name of the person or company associated with that number if you wish, then press the "Menu/Set" button to store the fax number. Press the "Stop/Exit" button to exit the menu.

Press the number key corresponding to a stored fax number after you've loaded the document into the feeder tray and pressed the "Fax" key. Press the "Start" button to send the fax.
Make Copies

Press the "Copy" button on the MFC 7220 so it lights up green. If the button is already lit, go on to the next step.

Place the document that you wish to make copy face down in the document feeder. Adjust the width guides so they touch the edges of the document.

Key in the number of copies you want to make using the printer's numeric keypad. You can make up to 99 copies at a time.

Press the "Options" button to access the sorting options menu. Use the arrow keys to move through the options. Press the "Menu/Sort" button to select the highlighted option.

Press the "Start" button to begin making your copies.
Cleaning

Slide the paper tray completely out of the MFC 7220. Wipe the outside of the printer and the interior of the paper tray compartment with a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and other debris.

Remove the paper from the paper tray and wipe the tray out with a dry microfiber cloth. Place the paper back in the tray and slide the tray back into the printer.

Press the "Power" button to turn off the MFC 7220 if it is on. Then, open up the front edge of the control panel. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a clean microfiber cloth. Gently rub the cloth on the glass strip and white bar just above it to remove any dust or other substances.

Close the control panel and press it firmly in place. Open the front cover and remove the toner cartridge.

Clean the laser scanner window with a dry microfiber cloth. Replace the toner cartridge and close the front cover.
