Regardless of the specific brand or model, all car amplifiers require certain connections in order to function properly. A constant connection to the vehicle's battery is required in addition to a ground and remote turn-on connection from the vehicle's source unit. RCA cables are used to provide the input source to the amplifier while many different types of speaker wire can be used, depending on the type of speakers that will be connected to the amplifier.
