Cutting back on gift giving can be difficult. Oftentimes, a family gift can be a less expensive options when you have lots of people on your gift list. You can choose one family gift that everyone can enjoy, or package several low-cost items in one package. A theme basket is another way to present a gift to a family.
Movie Gift
-
Fill a container with one or more family movies and snacks for a gift a family can enjoy together. Include candy and bags of popcorn to round out the gift. Personalize the gift by choosing the favorite candy of each individual. You can also include a throw blanket, popcorn seasonings and cans of soda.
Games
-
New board games, classic sets such as chess or checkers or any variety of card games can be given to a family for any holiday. Create your own board game for a family that centers around their favorite hobby or activities. This could be in a monopoly-style game, or create a trivia game if you know the family well. Since new games are continually being introduced to the market, find one the whole family can enjoy, or bundle a few games together if there is a wide age range in the family.
Box of Socks
-
Fill a box with socks for the whole family. Socks come in a wide variety of colors, patterns and styles. Choose whimsical socks such as toe socks, knee highs or socks made from fuzzy material. Cashmere socks are an upscale choice for adults. Alternately, you can give each member of a family slippers that suit their style.
Family Memberships
-
Give a family membership to a zoo, amusement park, indoor playground or museum. Look for a facility that includes something for each member of the family or is a place that the children will enjoy so that parents can use the membership often.
