Japan produces some of the fastest cars in the world. Consumers may be familiar with three large manufacturers: Nissan, Honda and Toyota. Although a majority of the fastest vehicles are designed for the race circuit, the Honda HSV-010 GT, for example, is based on a version produced for the general public.
Nissan 350z Dragster

According to NZ Car Performance, the Nissan 350z dragster is the fastest Nissan in the world. The 350z is a drag racer, which contains a 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine. The vehicle has approximately 1,900 horsepower to its rear wheels.
Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R is considered the "world's fastest accelerating four-seater," according to Earth Times. The vehicle has made it into the Guinness Book of World records in Italy, accelerating to 100 mph in 3.5 seconds. The GT-R contains a V6 bi-turbo engine generating 486 horsepower.
Toyota Supra

Boost Logic has produced a drag version of the Toyota Supra that is considered the "world' quickest unibody Supra." The Boost Logic has a 3.3-liter race engine, a T6 turbo kit, custom intake manifolds, and a Boost Logic custom fuel system and air-to-water intercooler.
Honda HSV-010 GT

The Honda HSV-010 GT is considered a "Nissan GT-R killer." The vehicle is powered by a 3.4-liter V8 engine. This racer version was modified from a version available for public purchase. The car is designed to race in the "Super GT" race series.
