Excess body fat is the bane of many people's lives. Whether you are young or old, it is never too late to lose that flab and get yourself in shape. Thankfully, the steps you need to take are simple. With a healthy diet and some simple flat stomach exercises, you can get yourself in shape quickly.
Regular Cardiovascular Exercise
-
Running, swimming and jogging are excellent ways to burn excess body fat and get you back into shape. By exercising for 30 minutes each day, you will use up much of the excess fat your body is storing around your waist. GP advisory website Patient UK recommends losing around two pounds per week to burn excess fat at a healthy, stable rate. This will help keep the fat off once you reach your goal.
Crunches
-
Performing three sets of crunches every week helps tone stomach muscles. Although fat deposits around the stomach and waistline, it is not the only reason people lose their flat stomachs. To perform a crunch, lie on the floor on your back, bend your knees so your feet are flat on the floor, then lift your upper body by tensing your stomach muscles.
Lower Body Russian Twists
-
Many people choose to do sit-ups when training their stomach muscles, but these are of limited effectiveness. Three sets of ten lower body Russian twists per week will develop your abdominal muscles quicker and more effectively. To perform the lower body Russian twist, lie on the floor and raise your legs perpendicular to your body, twist your pelvis until your feet touch the ground to one side of you. Repeat for the other side.
