A Magellan Maestro 4250 is a GPS, or Global Positioning System, device. The unit uses satellite technology to track and guide its user to a destination or point of interest based on its current position. If the unit crashes, freezes or doesn't seem to function properly, it can be reset. Resetting the Magellan restores its factory default settings. This deletes all your saved and stored information, so only use the factory reset option when necessary.

  Hold down the "Power" button to turn off the unit.

  Locate the small, recessed "Reset" button on the bottom, left side of the unit.

  Insert the end of a straightened paperclip, or other small object, in the reset hole. As you insert the object, you should feel it pushing down on the recessed button.

  Hold the button down for ten seconds. Release the button.
