Click the Windows "Start" button and type "cmd" into the text box. Press "Enter" to open your MS DOS command line.

Type "net use" and press "Enter." This displays all the current drives you have mapped to your computer.

Type "net use \\domain_compute_name\drive" where "domain_computer_name" is the external domain computer's name and "drive" is the shared folder or drive to which you want to connect. Press "Enter" to execute the command and connect to the computer.

Click the Windows "Start" button and click "Computer." This displays all drives on your computer, including the newly mapped drive. Double-click it to test your connection.

How to Access Data Across a Domain Script
On a large network, you may have several domains connected together. When you browse your local domain, you do not see the resources on the other, external domain. You can write a quick Windows MS DOS script to connect to a resource on another domain. You map the drive on the external domain computer, so you can share files and printers with the other computer user.
