Contact your service provider's customer service department if you've never made an international call from your phone. (Toll-free numbers can generally be found on a recent invoice.) Many wireless companies restrict international dialing unless you request otherwise. Most companies also charge for calls outside the United States -- ask about rates so you don't get a surprise on your bill.

How to Call Korea From the USA
Making an international call from the United States typically requires you to dial a few extra numbers. Korea is no exception. To complete a call, you'll need to dial "011" to initiate the connection. You'll then need Korea's country code and the area code and phone number. North and South Korea each use a separate country code. Keep in mind that international calls, whether you're using a landline or mobile, are usually not included in your phone plan.
