How to Change the Headlamp on a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country

When it comes to large vehicles such as vans and sports utility vehicles (SUVs), many people opt to leave small repairs to mechanics rather than taking them on themselves. However, some repairs on these vehicles are absolutely doable for just about anyone. You can easily change the headlamps on the 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van, for example. With little more than a screwdriver, you can fix a burnt-out Town and Country headlamp in minutes.
    • 1

Engage the parking brake and turn off the ignition.

    • 2

Open the hood and locate three small screws at the top of the headlamp assembly. Remove these screws by turning them counterclockwise with a screwdriver.

    • 3

Remove the entire headlamp assembly from the housing by pulling it toward the front of the vehicle enough to gain access to the bulb. Turn the bulb counterclockwise until you remove it from the assembly.

    • 4

Insert the new bulb while wearing your latex gloves. Turn the bulb clockwise until tight and secure inside the assembly.

    • 5

Insert the headlamp assembly back in the housing. Replace the three screws, and secure them by turning them clockwise until tight.

    • 6

Close the hood, and test the new headlamp to ensure it works properly.
