Upload the image file of your choice to the Internet. You can upload the file to your own hosted website or an image hosting website that allows "hotlinking." The image file must be 143 pixels in width and 59 pixels in height to perfectly replace the Gmail logo. If you uploaded to an image hosting website, copy down the image URL (the Web address that links directly to the image) that should be provided for you after uploading.
- 2
Open a CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) program and create a blank CSS file called "gmail_logo.css".
- 3
Edit the "gmail_logo.css" file by typing ".zYsCRb {background:transparent url(http://www.sampleaddress.com/image.gif) !important; }", replacing the "http://www.sampleaddress.com/image.gif" text with the URL that links directly to the image you uploaded in Step 1.
- 4
Save the "gmail_logo.css" file and launch the Mailplane application.
- 5
Click the application menu and choose "Preferences." Click the "Tweak UI" tab.
- 6
Click to place a check in "Use custom stylesheets" box and then click the "Choose" button. Select the "gmail_logo.css" file and click "Open."
- 7
Close and restart the Mailplane program to view the uploaded image in place of the Gmail logo at the top left corner of the application window.

How to Change Mail Plane Logos
Mailplane is an application for the Mac that allows users to access Gmail (Google's free Web-based email service) from the desktop. Mailplane has added features, such as the ability to drag-and-drop files into email messages, to increase the functionality of the Gmail service. The program interface looks much the same as Gmail's interface, even down to the iconic Gmail logo. If you want to change the logo to another image, this can be done from within the "Tweak UI" tab of the Preferences menu.
