Open Microsoft Word, click the "File" tab and select "New." Click the "Brochures and booklets" button in the middle of the "Available Templates" screen. Double-click the "Brochures" file folder icon. Review the different brochure templates. Double-click a design and within a few moments, it opens in a new Word window.

Scroll through the two pages of the brochure to get a feel for the design and layout.

Highlight the headline on the cover of the brochure. Type directly over the words with the appropriate new header, such as "Flu Shots Available Here." Repeat to type over the other headers throughout the brochure.

Highlight and type over the text boxes under the headlines throughout the brochure with related brochure information. Adjust the text's appearance by clicking the "Home" tab and selecting options in the "Font" menu, such as changing the font or increasing the text size.

Click once on a placeholder picture in the brochure and press the "Delete" key to remove it. Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen. Click the "Picture" button below the tab. Browse to a digital photo such as a physician head shot, product photograph or other image and double-click the file name to add the picture into place. Repeat to delete and replace images throughout the brochure. Add the company or organization's logo to the cover or back panel of the brochure using the same process.

Click into the text boxes for the contact section of the brochure. Type over the placeholder text boxes with information such as hours of operation, phone number, website address, emergency contact personnel and how to get in touch. Remove the contact section entirely by clicking each text box and pressing the "Delete" button on the keyboard.

Change the brochure's background color by clicking the "Page Layout" tab at the top of the page. Click the "Page Color" button in the middle of the ribbon/toolbar. Select a small colored square to instantly update the background color, such as to one that matches the office or business branding scheme.

Click the "File" tab and select "Save As." Type a name for the brochure and save it to the computer.
