How to Conceal an Extension Cord

Extension cords are an easy way to get power to a distant site --- much easier than moving an outlet. But most people consider them eyesores and tripping hazards. Extensions cords are often longer than what you actually need, but concealing them is easy thanks to wire molding kits designed to hide exposed wiring without invasive in-wall installation.
    • 1

Lay out the extension cord, molding the cable to the wall. Form it around corners and along its intended path.

    • 2

Cut sections of wire molding to fit the cord. Take into account corner adapters and other joining pieces.

    • 3

Slide the cord into the side of the wire molding. Peel off the adhesive backing section by section, adhering it to the wall surface.

    • 4

Snap on corner pieces and joiners as needed. These attach to the main channels via a molded clip.
