Tricks for "Nintendogs DS"

  Nintendogs is the highly popular virtual pet simulation for the Nintendo DS handheld gaming console. Nintendogs is all about raising your puppy, keeping it happy, teaching it tricks, then later having it compete in competition with the tricks it learned. Basic tricks will be learned by using the stylus. Advanced tricks will use your voice to issue commands, once the basic tricks are learned.

Sit

• This is one of the most basic tricks that you will teach your dog and is the basis of some more advanced ones. Simply slide your stylus down your dog's head quickly. It may need to be done more than once but eventually it will sit.

Roll Over

• This is a multiple-part trick. First, get your dog to sit by sliding the stylus down its head quickly. Then you will have to get it to lie down by sliding the stylus down its head again. While it is laying down, slide the stylus down its head in a diagonal motion to get it to play dead. Finally, slide your stylus from its side that is touching the ground diagonally to its stomach. This may take a few times to get perfect, but it is a neat trick.

Beg

• Get your dog to sit by sliding your stylus quickly down its head. While your dog is sitting, slide your stylus up from its body. It will then stand up and start begging. Your dog will have to be well-trained, otherwise it will just stand on its back paws for a moment.

Backflip

• Your dog will have to know how to jump and sit, and be well-trained. First, get your dog to sit by sliding your stylus down its head. Jump is performed whenever your dog is in a crouching position and wagging its tail. Press the stylus to the screen when this occurs to have it jump.

  Once jump and sit are learned, command your dog to sit, then jump for a backflip using your voice.
