How to Create Users in Ventrilo

The administrator for a Ventrilo server sets up a user account, so anyone can log in to the server using this account. This is a method of pooling all guest accounts under one user account. You set up a user with a password, so you can distribute the account information to only your friends and family. The Ventrilo software is a free way to chat online with family and friends, and creating a user account lets them log in to the server at any time.

  Click the Windows "Start" button on your server and select "All Programs." Click "Ventrilo" and select "Ventrilo" to open the main dialog window.

  Right-click your server name and select "Server Admin." Click "Login" to use the administrator account to access the server. Type your administrator password in the opened dialog window and click "OK."

  Right-click the server name again and select "Server Admin," and then click "User Editor." This opens a configuration window where you create a new user account.

  Click the "Info" tab. Type the new user account name in the "Login Name" text box. Type the password into the "Password" text box. Click "Add" to add the user to your Ventrilo server. Click "OK" again to save the settings and return to the main Ventrilo window.
