How to Get the Arm off a Seat in a 1994 Astro Van

As your 1994 Chevy Astro van gets more miles on it, you'll likely have to replace items both in the engine and in the interior. You might eventually have to remove and replace your armrest, which can become worn and tattered over time. Removing the armrest is simple and can be done from home.

  Place the seat into a reclining position.

  Place a small flashlight between the armrest and the seat. Point the flashlight toward the floor so you can see the hardware between the armrest and seat.

  Remove the C-clip by pushing up and back on it using a small screwdriver. There are two C-clips, one located between the chair and armrest and the other on the outer side of the armrest.

  Remove the outer C-clip from the armrest. Remove the flashlight.

  Push the armrest away from the seat to separate the it from the seat.
