How to Get Rid of a Computer Associates Error Window

The "Computer Associates" error, also known as the "Aslog.dll Error," typically appears when you are trying to install programs on your computer. It may also appear during start-up or shutdown. One of the common causes of the Computer Associates error is malicious software, which can often corrupt files and registries. While there are numerous security programs that you can download to remove this type of error, you can also use your built-in Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool to perform this task.

      Open the Start menu and select "Run ..." Type without the quotes "run" in the search bar at the bottom of the Start menu if you use Windows 7. Press "Enter" to launch the "Run ..." tool.

      Type without the quotes "MRT" and press "Enter" key. This will open Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.

      Click "Next" when the program launches.

      Select "Full Scan." Follow on-screen instructions to complete the scan and remove the Computer Associates and other related errors.

      Open the Start menu and select "All Programs." Scroll up to locate "Windows Update." Click "Check for updates." Follow prompts to install any available updates. Reboot your computer when prompted.
