How to Get Rid of Unruly Roommates

Few things can make your home life unbearable quite like unruly roommates from hell. It is unbelievable and impressive how some roommates can be incredibly rude, loud, inconsiderate, disrespectful and not even care. While the best approach is probably to sit down and have an honest talk with your roommates about their unruly behavior, that is not always an option based on certain people's personalities -- and if your roommates are already an out of control bunch, chances are they will not listen anyway.

  Complain constantly to your roommates. Complain about life in general, work, the weather, politics and just about anything you can think of. Be sure to complain to any friends or dates that they invite over, and find things that are wrong even if they are not being unruly at the moment. If your roommates absolutely cannot stand to be around you, they will be looking for a new place in no time.

  Leave passive-aggressive notes on everything. Passive-aggressive note leaving is a common workplace and roommate strategy, frequently involving food. You, however, can expand passive aggressive note leaving to anything and everything to drive your unruly roommates completely crazy. Leave notes on the bathroom mirror about water consumption, clearly label every item in the apartment that belongs to you and remind your roommates of their unruly habits whenever they get out of line. If you are nit-picky and crazy enough, they will definitely want to move out.

  Stop respecting boundaries. Try going to the bathroom with the door open as a warm up, and then move on to asking ridiculous questions when you are in the shower. Be sure to give too much information about absolutely everything. Your roommates will be so weirded out by your creepy behavior, they will surely be searching for a new apartment.

  Do to them what they do to you. Whatever you roommates does that bothers you, do it back to them. If they play loud music, rent big speakers and play your music louder. If your roommates throw wild parties, throw a party of your own and suggest your guests use their rooms to get to know each other. Be your roommates times a thousand, and it should send them packing.

  Stop cleaning up after yourself. It may be a last resort, but filth could be your route to freedom. Obviously this will not work if your unruly roommates are also disgusting pigs, unless you are really willing to take it to the next level. Start by never washing your dishes and leaving food out all over the place. For the next step, make sure the bathroom makes people want to squat and instead of touching the toilet seat and leave wet clothes hanging on the shower rod. If you know your roommates are particularly grossed out by any animals or insects, get one as a pet then let it run free in the apartment.
