Palm 500V Vs. Palm Centro

The Palm Treo 500v and the Palm Centro belong to Palm's line of smartphones, cell phones with access to the Internet and many multimedia functions. While some of their features overlap, there are distinct differences between the two.

Similarities

• Both the 500v and the Centro come with Bluetooth connectivity, Google Maps, a camera, sync software, picture and video, a calculator and a Solitaire game. As with any phone, both include contact databases and the ability to place and receive calls.

Different Features

• The key difference between the 500v and the Centro is that the 500v is, simply put, a Microsoft Windows-powered phone. While the Centro includes file storage and Documents to Go, a document software program, the 500v instead features Windows Mobile Standard 6. This comes along with Microsoft Office, Windows Live and Windows Media Player Mobile.

Physical Specifications

• Physically, the 500v and the Centro are quite similar, with the same raised keyboards and button interface. But there are color differences, as the Centro has two different contrasting colors while the 500v is one color.
