How to Get Videos Online From a Canon Camcorder

Many websites give you the ability to upload your videos, allowing other users the option of viewing your content. These videos may originate from about any location (as long as it is your own), including a Canon digital video camera. Once you have uploaded the video files to your computer, it is only a matter of time before the content is up on the web for others to enjoy.

Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on the Canon camcorder, and then insert the other end of the cable into one of the USB ports on the computer. Power on the video camera and set it to "View" mode. In a few moments, the computer states it has detected a new video camera.

Click "Start," "Computer," then double-click the video camera icon. A window loads with all the saved video files on the camera. Click and drag the files from the open window onto the desktop (or any other location you want the contents saved to on the computer).
