How to Install the Call of Duty 4 1.5 Patch

After you've installed the retail copy of "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" on your PC, you will be using version 1.0. Although the game includes an auto-update utility, it does not allow you to select a patch that is not the latest available. However, you can manually download and install the 1.5 patch, which includes numerous fixes to the multiplayer component, as well as enhanced game stability.

  Download the 1.5 patch from the link under Resources. Save the EXE file to your desktop.

  Double click the EXE file to begin the installation. The patch installer will look for your previously installed copy of "Call of Duty 4."

  Click "Next" to move past the welcome screen, then select "Next" to begin the patching process. When prompted, restart your computer. After the restart, your version of "Call of Duty 4" will be changed to 1.5. You can verify the version number by looking at the bottom right of the "Call of Duty 4" main menu.
