How to Install Sp200 Star Printer

Just as with most peripheral computer devices, installing your Star Micronics SP200 impact printer is mostly a matter of downloading and using the latest version of the printer's driver. Fortunately, the driver can be downloaded at no cost from Star Micronics's website, and the installation process is quick and simple. Follow the steps outlined for you here to obtain the driver and install the printer on your Windows-based computer running Windows 2000 or a newer version.

  Connect your computer to the Internet, open a Web browser and navigate to the Star Micronics support page for SP200-series printers (see Resources).

  Click on the "Click Here for File" link under the first item in the list for SP200-series printers.

  Follow the prompts to download the file and save it to your computer. This process may vary depending on which browser you use, but you will most likely need to click either "Open" or "Save." Choose the "Save" option.

  Open the driver file you have just downloaded by double-clicking on the icon with your mouse. Follow the prompts to complete the installation process. You may be directed to restart your computer. If so, save any work you have in other programs and close them before initiating the restart.
