How to Install Video Drives in LiveCD

The Linux Ubuntu distribution has a LiveCD installation download that allows you to preview the operating system before installing it on your computer. The operating system is loaded from the CD, memory key or USB drive, and you can access all of its functions as normal, although with slower access times. You can also test video card drivers in this mode to ensure that your card is compatible with the operating system.

  Insert your LiveCD into your computer and restart. Press the BIOS key or the key to change your computer's boot order. Go to the "Boot Order" section of your BIOS and put the drive with the LiveCD installation into the first slot. Save your changes. If you can't find a "Boot Options" menu, look for "Boot" or "Advanced."

  Click "System" and "Administration." Click "Hardware Drivers." Alternatively, you can double-click the small PCI card icon that appears in the top system tray when the system detects proprietary hardware.

  Select the driver for your graphics card from the list. Click "Activate." You can now take advantage of the graphical processing power.
