How to Make Printable Address Labels

Printable address labels allow you to produce a professional-looking envelope, or a festively designed one for sending greeting cards in the mail. Making printable address labels is an easy to accomplish task that can be completed in under an hour on your home computer. This is a cost-friendly alternative to having address labels professionally made for you, and you can lend a personal touch to creating the labels.

      Insert a sheet of adhesive-backed printer paper into your printer's paper cartridge. Depending on your style of printer, the paper feeder cartridge may be located at the top or in the front of the machine.

      Create a new project in your computer's photo editing software. You can also use a native program on Windows, such as Microsoft Paint. Make the project 4 inches wide by 2 inches tall.

      Select a color-filling option to create colored background for the address label. Stick to light colors so you can write on them once printed.

      Go to the print preview option on the program you are using. Once in print preview, select the "tile" option. This tiles the single address label template into several on one page.

      Print the project.
