Throw out clothes that are too baggy or too tight. These are looks that always look young. Keep sports-related clothing and accessories confined to the gym or sporting events.
- 2
Purchase tailored clothes with classic lines. A well-tailored suit can add years of authority to your look. Tailored khakis and well-fitting jeans are good casual choices. Top them off with a button-down shirt or fitted blazer.
- 3
Wear a timeless timepiece. Classic-looking watches add instant class to any outfit, and you can purchase them at a range of price points.
- 4
Choose a classic short hairstyle like the crew cut or Caesar cut. Long hair can look sloppy or hide eyes, giving you a more immature appearance.
- 5
Groom yourself everyday. Sloppy eyebrows and unkempt facial hair create an immature and careless appearance. Consider growing a well-maintained goatee or beard. The right facial hair can add a decade to your age.
- 6
Act confident. Stand up straight with your head held high. Don't chew gum and offer friendly greetings and firm hand shakes to everyone you meet. A confident demeanor adds maturity.
- 7
Be punctual to interviews and dates. This shows you have the maturity to stay on schedule and keeps you from looking anxious or frazzled.

How to Make Yourself Look Older as a Man
In our youth-obsessed culture, most men and women seek out ways to look younger. There are many situations, however, in which looking older can be a benefit. A teenage or 20-something guy may want to look older to get that first job, or appeal to a more mature class of women. A 30-something man who looks years younger may want to adopt a more mature style to gain authority in the workplace and be taken seriously for major promotions. Ultimately, looking older comes down to style, grooming and attitude.
