How to Move a Tungsten Palm Address Book

With HotSync from Palm installed on a computer, users can move address books from the Tungsten to the computer, making the information accessible on the computer. This function works well if the phone is upgraded or damaged. With the address book backed up, the user can transfer the contact list from the computer to a new phone, or back to the original phone if it becomes deleted.

  Open "HotSync" on the computer. If HotSync is not already on the computer, it can be downloaded for free from the Palm website. (See Resources.)

  Connect the Tungsten to the computer with the USB cable provided.

  Press "Sync" on the USB cable. This button is located at the base of the connection, which is inserted in the Tungsten. When the sync is complete, the message at the top of the Tungsten will change and inform the user the sync is complete and it is safe to disconnect.
