Find members by posting fliers in local comic shops, bookstores, coffeehouses or your school. Also use word of mouth, using your friends to spread information about the club. Make an email address that interested people can contact. Choose a neutral email address that doesn't reveal any of your personal information, just in case an unsavory person responds to your advertisements. Once you have an idea of how many people are interested, plan your first meeting.
- 2
Locate a meeting space for your club. If you're in school, talk to staff about booking one of the classrooms after school. Otherwise, look into booking space at your local community center, coffeehouse, comic shop, library or pub. Don't host meetings at your home unless you know everyone attending and are comfortable with them.
- 3
Create a mailing list of people who expressed interest in the club. Send out an email with information on your first meeting. Let people know you will be voting on club offices that day so they have time to consider running.
- 4
Discuss the club's goals at your first meeting. Figure out what kind of anime club you want to be. Do you want to be all ages, or adults only? Do you want to be a manga club too? Will you do extra activities together, like going to anime conventions and the movies? Will you have club dues and, if so, how much will they be? Have everyone vote on each issue and note the consensus.
- 5
Vote for officer positions, including president, vice president, treasurer, webmaster, librarian and secretary. Run for any office you wish to hold.
- 6
Hold regular meetings and organize events for them. Create variety by letting different people choose the film or activity for different meetings. Try theme meetings, like cosplay ---short for costume play --- and cookouts to keep things interesting.

How to Organize an Anime Club
Watching anime is fun, but watching anime with a roomful of anime lovers is even better. Forming an anime club gives you a chance to hang out with people with similar interests and organize events. Screenings are a popular club activity where members can exchange movies and watch them together. You can also go to events together and have theme meetings. Ensure your club stays organized by agreeing on a mission statement and appointing competent officers.
