How to Plan for an International Career

An international career can be exciting and fulfilling on many levels. With an increasing level of globalization it is becoming easier to have a career that takes you to different continents on a regular basis. It is important to be self-aware and know exactly what you want to do within the context of an international career. With some additional planning and strategy, you can create the career of your dreams and travel the world in the process.

      Take the fee-based Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test on the Myers & Briggs Web site to assess and understand your personality type. Use the information to determine what career would be a good fit for you. Evaluate which countries hold the most interest for you.

      Learn the language of the country that you're most interested in. Gain conversational fluency in the language by taking language courses offered by schools, community colleges, universities or private sources.
