How to Program a Set Top Box

Set top boxes are used to convert digital cable signals sent by cable companies to an analog signal that is received by older televisions. However, once the box is connected to the television, it must be programmed so it knows which channels work and which channels to skip. You can program your set top box to do this by going through the device's menu.

  Press the "Menu" button on your device's remote to open your set top box's menu.

  Select the "Program Setting" option to open the program menu.

  Select the "Channel Search" option, then select the "Auto Mode" option to automatically search for active channels.

  Press the "Exit" button after the channel search is complete to exit the menu.
