How to Recover a SIM Card's Text

Cell phones have become the one item on which most Americans rely. We save phone numbers, dates and much more information on the phone to keep it on hand. SIM cards are used in most cell phones to save contacts, notes, calendars and text messages. When something is accidentally deleted from the phone, panic can ensue. Do not fret; there is a quick and convenient way to retrieve text from SIM cards.

  Purchase a SIM card spy reader or spy software. These are USB readers, or software that can read the SIM Card and recovers deleted text and data. The most popular of the readers are SIM Recovery Pro and Cell Phone Spy Elite. The most popular software for recovery is SIM Card SMS Rescue and SIM Card Contact Rescue.

  Install the card reader software or the spy software to your computer. SIM cards are not designed to be read from a computer, and compatible software must be used for the computer to access the cards.

  Take the SIM card out of the phone. The SIM card is normally located in the battery compartment. Do not force the card out. It should slide out with ease, or there may be a clip to hold down for the card to come out. Forcing the card out will just cause damage to the card.

  Insert the SIM card into the card reader and plug the USB into a port on the computer.

  Open the spy software or the software for the USB Spy reader. A shortcut to this software is located in the "Programs List" or "All Programs" section of the "Start" Menu.

  Click on the "File" option and select "Import." Then, choose the location of the SIM card. Click on "Import" when the SIM Card is located.

  Locate the option to retrieve deleted content. All spy software is different and may be located in different places. Most often, there is an icon or button on the toolbar of the software.

  Click on the option to retrieve or rescue deleted data. Normally, users can choose between deleted contacts, deleted text and other deleted items.

  View the deleted text on the screen or recover the information and place it back on the SIM, so the phone can read it. All of these programs will allow users to save the files as a text file or print the information out.
