Heat the area carefully with a blow dryer. You do not want the surface hot to the touch; just warmed up enough to loosen the adhesive.
- 2
Peal the sticker or decal off. The adhesive will remain on the vehicle.

Apply some adhesive remover to a soft cloth and rub the area using circular motions. You want to use a very soft cloth. A child's cloth diaper works. Reapply the adhesive remover to a clean section of the cloth so that you are not rubbing the glue back into the paint.

Apply some rubbing alcohol to the cloth once the bulk of the adhesive is removed to clean up small spots. Rub the cloth in circular motions to clean the area.

How to Remove Car Dealer Lettering From a New Car
New and used vehicles purchased from a dealer offer that dealer opportunities for free advertising at your expense. Dealers place decals on the tail-end of the vehicle before it hits the showroom floor. Some people like to either modify the decal to read something such as "her Toy," or to fully remove it. The process for removing decals requires a soft hand and patience. You must be careful to not damage the top coat of the paint.
