How to Remove a Mazda Emergency Fob Key

Some higher trim levels of Mazda vehicles come with an advanced key system. This system is sometimes referred to as an intelligent key or a smart key. Vehicles that use this system have an "Engine Start" button rather than a traditional ignition. Mazda makes two types of advanced keys. One is a flat device sized and shaped like a credit card. The other is the standard advanced key which is shaped like a typical keyless entry remote. If the battery in your key system is ever dead, you'll need to access the key's emergency key to open the vehicle.
