How to Remove a New Task From the Task Manager With a Group Policy

If your Windows-based computer has a group policy set up, only the machine's administrator account will be able to perform certain functions. This includes removing a task from your computer using the Windows Task Manager. You will first need to log in as this administrator account if you want to remove a task from the Task Manager on a group policy machine.

      Click "Start."

      Click "Log Off." A screen will now appear featuring one icon for every user account on your computer. Click the "Administrator" icon and type the account password to sign in as your computer's administrator.

      Right-click the taskbar.

      Click "Start Task Manager."

      Click the "Applications" tab. Click the application you want to close and click the "End Task" button. Click "End Task" again to remove the selected task from your Task Manager.
