Connect the USB flash drive into one of the computer's USB ports.

Go to the system tray and click the "U3" icon.

Click "Settings" and select "U3 Launchpad Settings."

Go to the left panel and click "Uninstall." Click "Uninstall U3 Launchpad." Press "Next."

Select "Yes" if you want to restore the files after uninstalling U3.

Click "Format" to remove U3.

Download the U3 Launchpad Removal Tool (see Resources) and save it to a location on your computer. Access the location where you saved the file and double-click "Launchpadremoval.exe" to run the uninstaller.

Remove the U3 Launchpad during the initial setup process. The first time you insert your SanDisk USB flash drive into your computer, you will see a window that gives you the option to install the U3 Launchpad.

Select "No, I Want to Use My Drive for Storage Only."

Click "Remove U3" to uninstall it.

How to Remove the USB Software From a SanDisk U3
SanDisk USB flash drives come with a software known as the U3 Launchpad. This program allows users to perform various advanced tasks with their flash drives. If you do not need the U3 application, remove it from the flash drive. To do so, you must log into the administrator account to have administrator privileges.
