How to Remove Wax From Car Interiors

For many parents, taking kids on a long car ride can be an exhausting experience. One way to keep the little ones occupied is to supply them with a package of crayons and drawing paper. Unfortunately, kids can mistake the car's upholstery for paper and cover it with wax crayon. You can remove wax from a car's upholstered seats and any wax that may have found its way onto the plastic pieces as well.
    • 1

Fill a small plastic zip-lock bag with ice. Close the seal on the bag.

    • 2

Hold the ice-filled bag against upholstered seat or plastic piece for two to three minutes. The cold of the ice will help harden the wax.

    • 3

Scrape the wax off the upholstered and plastic surfaces with a plastic putty knife.

    • 4

Continue to freeze and scrape the upholstered or plastic areas until the wax is removed.

    • 5

Clean any residue that remains with a soft cloth that has been soaked in soapy water.
