How to Repair a Joint in a Metal Gutter
Gutters protect the foundation of the structure they are attached to by catching and diverting water runoff away from the structure's foundation where it could cause damage. A leaking gutter allows water to leak close to the structure and if left unfixed it could result in structural damage. Metal gutter joints may leak if the adhesive that creates the watertight seal between the two sections has worn away or has become brittle. Depending on your particular gutter you may need to remove sections of gutter to get to the leaky gutter so it is helpful to have a buddy help you.
