The U.S. Army reports the USAMU offers members of the U.S. Military two basic marksmanship training opportunities, which are the close quarters marksmanship and squad designated marksmanship courses. A combined training course is also offered, which is called close quarters squad designated marksmanship training.
Courses

The marksmanship training offered by the USAMU consists of pistol and rifle marksmanship from a range of 0 to 600 yards under normal conditions. A variety of environments are used in training courses, including urban environments and firing range competitions.
Content

The U.S. Army reports all training offered by the USAMU is of the train-the-trainer standard, allowing members of the military who successfully complete the courses to return to their units and train other unit members. Training includes trigger control, sight picture and sight control.
