Double-click the printer icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.

Click "Maintenance."

Click "EPSON Status Monitor 3."

Check the ink levels to see what the software is currently showing.

Turn off the printer. Unplug it from both the wall and the computer.

Close the EPSON Status Monitor. Wait 60 seconds.

Remove the ink cartridges from the printer by lifting the printer lid and clicking the little green tabs. They should pop right out.

Shake the cartridges gently back and forth a couple times to mix the ink around and dislodge any ink drying along the sides or top.

Replace the ink cartridges and close the lid.

Plug the printer back into the wall and then back into the computer.

Turn it on. After it boots up, return to the Status Monitor. The ink level on the software will have reset, showing you the most accurate information.

The Epson Inkjet C43SX is a basic ink printer for the home user. It features a simple, easy-to-understand interface and automated monitors to tell you when ink is low. It the printer has been left on for too long though, these monitoring systems can misread the ink levels. The ink could be drying or may need to be shaken around a bit. Resetting the ink showing on the printer software is simple and may show you that you have more ink left than you thought.
