How to Restore a Disk for an HP M7680n

Even the best cared-for computers are vulnerable to hard drive corruptions, malware infections and system crashes that turn a functioning computer to an unusable hunk of plastic and metal. Fortunately for HP M7680n owners, Hewlett Packard preinstalls a recovery partition to allow you to restore your hard disks to their original condition. The restore should only be used as a final step in the troubleshooting process, since the restore will erase all the currently saved data on the hard disk.

  Restart the computer.

  Press "F11" once the computer begins to start back up to access the HP Recovery Manager.

  Click "System Recovery" and click "Next." Choose "No" in the Microsoft window that opens and click "Next."

  Click the "Backup Your Files First" option and follow the steps displayed by the wizard if you want to create a backup of the personal files on your hard drive before they are erased by the restore, or click "Next" to begin the restore process. The recovery partition will restore your hard disk to the original operating condition and resolve any issues you are experiencing.
