According to Jaguar enthusiast John Heilig, the company's Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) ratings rose from 25th in 1992 to ninth in 1996. According to Heilig, this improvement occurred as a result of improved production processes and an increase on customer focus. However, as with all cars, the XJ6 had a few specific problems.
Cramped Rear Cabin
-
If you like your backseat passengers to have plenty of space, the 1995 Jaguar XJ6 may not make a good choice, as it has a cramped rear cabin, the website What Car? cautions. This issue may not affect smaller children, but it may become a factor that causes stress for older children or adults.

If you are considering buying a used 1995 Jaguar XJ6, ask the sales staff about the brake discs. What Car? report that wear and warpage can cause issues with this particular model. To avoid buying a car with ineffective brakes, make inquiries before you buy.
Air-Con Issues
-
You need air-conditioning when driving in hot or cold weather to maintain a comfortable in-cabin temperature. Prepare for a possibly expensive additional cost to owning a 1995 Jaguar XJ6. You may have to spend a lot of money to have the air-conditioning overhauled. The website What Car? claims that air-conditioning failure is a particular problem with the 1994 through 1997 XJ6 models. Moreover, some replacement parts, such as the compressor and the evaporator, can cost as much as a used 1995 XJ6.
