How to Roll Tiny Meatballs With a Machine

Meatballs are a mixture of ground meat and selected ingredients, such as spices and vegetables, which are then seared, baked or fried. Although traditionally rolled by hand, meatball-forming machinery can be purchased for home or commercial meatball making. Tiny meatballs are a traditional cocktail snack and ingredient used in other Italian dishes, such as casseroles. With most meatball-rolling machinery, the smallest attainable meatball size is 5 grams. For attaining even tinier meatballs, you must alter the machinery or hand-roll your meatballs.
  • Making Tiny Meatballs With a Meatball Rolling Machine

    • 1

Decide which meatball recipe you would like to use. Assemble the ingredients, and alter the ingredient quantities depending on how many meatballs you would like to make.

    • 2

Mix with the ingredients with clean hands, food-preparation gloves or a large spoon in either the detached bowl from which the meatball machine will draw the mixture, or from an alternative bowl. If you mix the meatballs in a separate bowl, move the thoroughly integrated ingredients into the machine bowl.

    • 3

Adjust the diameter setting on the meatball-forming machine to the tiniest possible diameter or meatball mass.

    • 4

Test the meatball size by initiating the meatball-rolling machine and see if the first meatballs are tiny enough.

    • 5

Turn on the meatball-rolling machine with the meatball mixture inside the machine's bowl. Make the meatballs, and transfer to a plate.

    • 6

Bake, fry or sear the rolled tiny meatballs.
